Our 2015 Bone Bash Honoree: Krista Teyema
Krista was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2012 (age 31) and immediately began educating herself on the disease and treatment options. She had no idea the average age of onset R.A. is 30 to 60! Regardless, Krista has been determined to keep living her life with a positive attitude and laugh as often as possible.
R.A. doesn’t get in Krista’s way. Since her diagnosis, she has moved from Portland to Seattle, gotten engaged and married, and switched jobs (twice!). Krista spends as much time as she can with friends and family. She and her husband, Eric, love throwing themed parties for special occasions like the Super Bowl and the Kentucky Derby (pictured). They also love to travel (Ireland is next!), and no matter what else comes Krista’s way, there’s no doubt she’ll approach it with a sense of adventure.
As our 2015 Honoree, Krista is trying to raise both money and awareness about the disease. Help Krista reach her goal by donating below, or purchase a ticket and join us at this year's Bone Bash.
The mission of the Arthritis Foundation is to improve lives through leadership in the prevention, control and cure of arthritis and related diseases.
