Meet Our Speaker
Khushboo Sheth, MD
Khushboo Sheth attended NHL Medical college in India, trained in Internal Medicine at University of
Connecticut and moved to California for a fellowship in Immunology and Rheumatology at Stanford
University. Currently, she is a Clinical Assistant Professor (Affiliated) at Stanford University and staff
physician at the VA Palo Alto Healthcare System.
She initiated an early arthritis clinic during her residency to detect arthritis at an earlier stage and
improve patient outcomes. She is interested in exploring the intersections between medicine, culture,
patient experience and their effect on the art and practice of medicine and along with Kate Lorig
(Professor Emerita at Stanford University), has developed a patient and physician satisfaction scale for
rheumatology. She also has an interest in epidemiological research and based on her research using
national patient databases, she has authored publications and presented several posters at national and
international meetings. She is currently working with Bill Robinson (Professor of Immunology and
Rheumatology at Stanford University) on the epidemiological and clinical aspect of osteoarthritis
research. She has keen clinical interest in musculoskeletal ultrasound (US SONAR certified), and
rheumatoid and psoriatic arthritis.
In her spare time, she likes to travel and read medical non-fiction; she enjoys Indian classical music and
dance, and holds BA degrees in both.
